This is an ongoing style clinic is aimed at the young kid’s who want to learn how to step it up with the future prospect of racing, whether it’s local, nationally or ultimately, internationally!

‘Momentum Mates’ is basically a crew that will get together every 8-10 weeks to consolidate on what we’ve learnt previously, work on specific’s at this clinic with “homework” and goals for our juniors to take away. We’re looking at building up our talented local juniors knowledge in not only how to ride better, but also what preparation is required leading up to an event, how to prepare mentally, how to best maintain your bike, and nutrition, strength and conditioning considerations.

Come to one or all of these sessions, it doesn’t matter! We’ll accommodate all levels and goals for your kid, ensuring they ultimately – Have Fun and Be Safe!

Riders this clinic suits are beginners through to intermediate juniors who may have been riding a little while but want to build up confidence, good habits, skills and techniques.

For those who are interested in looking towards competitions, this is a great opportunity to be guided through preparation, training, mental and physical considerations as well as trail evaluation and practice opportunities.

There’s a lot to take in but we’ll ensure that everyone learns how to feel more confident and have better control, whilst maintaining rule #1 – Having Fun!

What will I learn?

Sessions will vary depending on location and what specific skills we’ll be addressing. But with all of our clinic’s, we strive to bring skills to those who are keen to learn the basic’s through to those who are eager to start competing in the near future! We can deliver various techniques to best suit any age, size or bike type so everyone leaves each session feeling more empowered and confident!

At Awaba MTB Park, we’ll be able to utilise the “Pump, Jump, Repeat” track facilities to learn pumping techniques, how to corner effectively and jumping or manuals. We’ll also offer our years of competition knowledge to help those interested in racing, different event types and how to best prepare for any of these. We’ll also look at maintenance tips and Do’s/Don’t with keeping your bike in top condition. And as always, having FUN will be our #1 objective!

Skills learned can include the following and more.

  • Correct Body Positions
  • Braking and Gear selection
  • Basic through to Advanced Cornering techniques
  • Balance and Control
  • Handling small obstacles or drops
  • Jumping and manual techniques
  • Learning to pump / flow and much more.

IS THIS FOR ME?

This suits any aspiring young child who loves riding MTB’s as someone who fits one or more of the following.

  • New or relatively new to MTB.
  • Feels confident or comfortable riding the easier/green trails but wants to tackle more difficult terrain.
  • Struggles to get any flow or speed, even on easier/green trails.
  • Has problems with braking and wheels locking up.
  • Finds themselves in the wrong gear often.
  • Can’t or struggles to get over obstacles such as logs and rocks etc on trails.
  • Would like to learn the right way now whilst they’re still young, so Mum or Dad doesn’t have to worry as much!
  • Have been riding for some time, and would like to compete in the near future.

“I have a mountain bike but I’m scared to ride it on mountain bike trails.”
“I would just like to learn properly.”
“I already ride a lot but I’m not really getting better.”
“My riding friends are all better than I am.”
