OVERVIEW

For ages 10 yrs and above.
Location & Map: Awaba MTB Park (link to directions map)
Facilities:  No water available at location, long drop loo’s available on-site.

Tickets limited – available at bottom of this page.
Our NEW clinic, Intro to FAULK LINE Trail Session, is a 3-hour session of lessons on the Awaba MTB Park’s designated flow track with experienced, globally accredited mountain bike instructors who also have many years of experience in downhill racing. The session has very limited places in order to better facilitate participant experience and learning, as well as risk management. The Intro to Faulk Line Trail session will concentrate on the foundation skills required to safely and efficiently negotiate a flow track with more fun and speed in mind.

Our Intro to Faulk Line Trail Session is approx. 3 hours in length give or take.
This is a group session for people from 10 yrs old and up. Each group may contain up to approx. 6 riders maximum. Each session will have 2 coach/instructors.

The clinic will begin at the main car park, covering the skills and basic’s to ensure everyone is prepared for the second part of the clinic.
Then fun part!
Everyone will be shuttled to the start of Faulk Line Trail which will be **exclusively** closed for up to 1.5hrs whilst we work our way down the trail looking at the various sections, before we all get another go, this time linking it all up in one run!

More information will be emailed out a day or so before the session.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Our Intro to Faulk Line Trail Session is all about helping you to learn, develop and practice the skills to gain rhythm and be in sync with your bike and the trail’s constantly changing features.

Skills learned will include:

  • Body position
  • Riding berms
  • Line choice
  • Trail awareness
  • Bike handling for more speed
  • Descending
  • Small jump/wheel lifts

Note: Session and program content may be altered at the coaches discretion for reasons of safety, weather, to better cater for the riders or other requirements.

IS THIS FOR ME?

I’m an average intermediate cross country rider or I’m getting into Enduro more and want to try flow tracks but…
“I need to learn to handle speed better over lumps and dips.”
“I’m slow downhill.”
“I lose my nerve when the trail heads downhill”
“Tabletops make me cry”
“Berms make me cry too”
“I get scared at speed”

If any of these statements sound like you then perhaps our Intro to Faulk Line Trail Session is for you.

WHAT YOU NEED

Your mountain bike will need to be in good working order and can be suited to cross country through to gravity enduro. Tyre choice is yours, however, the bike must be fitted with mountain bike tyres also suited to off-road terrain. We suggest tyres at least 2.2in wide.

If you are unsure about any of this, please ask us.
We do ask that, to the best of your ability, that you try to ensure your bike is in good working and properly set up for your body shape and weight prior to the class. We cannot hold the class up to aid mechanical repairs.

Helmet (compulsory)

If you have a full-face helmet by all means wear it. Standard cross country mountain bike helmets are acceptable. You are required to wear your helmet correctly fitted and it must be Australian approved helmet during all sessions.

Dropper Post (optional)

Although not compulsory, having a dropper post on your bike is an advantage on a flow track. If you don’t have a dropper post, you may wish to lower your seat post  to gain more freedom of movement over the bike and lessen any chance of your seat causing you issues during your session. You can talk to our instructors prior to the class beginning about this if you need.

Knee and Elbow Pads (optional)

We recommend all students wear extra protection in the form of hard or soft shell pads on both knees and elbows, however, it is optional. By wearing elbow and knee pads, you not only gain the protection but also the confidence that comes from knowing you have the protection.
