Alicia first started riding seriously on road bikes in 2012 at the age of 24 when she became interested in entering triathlons. Although still enjoying triathlons and having achieved solid results in her age categories, she started looking for more challenging terrains and turned her attention to mountain biking in 2014 and headed off road. From there Alicia’s love of cross country riding really gathered speed and she entered her first mountain biking event in 2015.

Alicia is now an accomplished endurance rider who has completed numerous cross country events including the Dirt de Femme, the Port 2 Port 4 day stage race, Diamonds in the Dirt and the Kowalski Classic.

In recent years Alicia has been an active member of the Hunter Mountain Bike Club (HMBA) and in 2017 was C Grade Women’s Champion. After many races and attending coaching clinics such as Women On Wheels skills camps and intermediate jump classes with Momentum Is Your Friend, Alicia realised her desire to teach others went beyond her day job as a school teacher. Many years of teaching experience lends very well to her a desire to help others improve their mountain biking.

Aside from working with us, Alicia has been an assistant coach during Ride n Sweet - Kids Skills Days held by the HMBA. “I love riding and whenever I get the chance to help others realise their love and passion for the sport I readily jump at the chance. Mountain biking isn’t just an elite sport, it’s something the whole family can enjoy!”

Alicia holds a current MTBA coaching certification and has undergone extensive training by our senior coaches to be familiar with the PMBIA coaching system as well. Alicia also has a certificate in first aid and a Working With Children (WWC) clearance.
